International English Speaking Ministry in Riga Cathedral (Doms)

The Riga Cathedral now offers many opportunities for English speaking Christians: We have an International English Worship Service at 10:00 on Sundays at the Riga Cathedral in the St. Mary’s chapel off to the left at the bottom of the stairs from the main entrance doors.

Deaconess intern, Doris A. Kayser and Kathleen Garner, Director of Christian Education Intern, have recently joined Pastor Mark Krause and his wife, Rose, to minister to English speaking people in Riga.  Pastor Mark and Rose Krause are missionary consultants from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod serving the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia. They have lived in Riga a little over two years. 

Doris’s duties involve working as an English host to those who come to visit and pray at the Riga Cathedral.  She has office hours at the Cathedral from 11:00  to 16:00,Thursday through Saturday. She is also working with the Latvian Lutheran Diaconia Center. Kathleen is working at the Latvian Lutheran Youth Center with Pastor Krists Kalnins. With the addition of Doris and Kathleen, the Riga Cathedral can now offer more programs to English speaking people, including Sunday school for children and Sunday Bible Class/ Discussion for adults. 

Pastor Krause and Deaconess Doris A. Kayser are also available for ongoing pastoral care as well as hospital/shut-in visitation upon request.
